Located off the east coast of Puerto Rico, the island of Vieques offers guests an untouched and pristine view of the native landscape of the island and some of the best beaches found in the Caribbean. Situated on 750-acres, Design Workshop’s master plan for this destination golf club and spa incorporates an 18-hole public golf course, a 9-hole short course and teaching academy, and a destination spa. One of the most unique features of the site is a crescent-shaped ridgeline that rises up to 150-meters above sea level, providing a beautiful backdrop to the Atlantic Ocean. The master plan protects the ridgeline from development by placing resort amenities at the toe of slope, but provides dramatic views from the top by routing golf holes up and over the ridge. The golf clubhouse and spa are positioned on hilltops with panoramic views of the ocean, and are centrally located to the golf club villas and estate lots. The master plan also incorporates a hydroponic resort garden for growing organic foods, a public park and farmer’s market and an observatory, which is accessible by pedestrian and bike trails.
