McDowell Mountain Ranch

Design Workshop helped design and develop a five-acre park, a three-acre visitor center, and a four-mile trail system in McDowell Mountain Ranch. Each facility and the trail system for this family-oriented community were designed to maximize outdoor recreation activities while preserving existing vegetation and wash crossings in the fragile Sonoran Desert ecosystem. The community center and park are the central focus of McDowell Mountain Ranch. This area will include a 3,000-square foot community building, a public swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, a play area, and picnic ramadas. The trail system links the community center and park to each of the adjoining neighborhoods through protected open space corridors and an existing regional trail system.
