Denver office of Design Workshop boosts its staff with addition of four new members

DENVER, COLO. — Design Workshop is pleased to announce the hiring of four new staff members since the first of the year, augmenting the 60-member staff of its Denver office with landscape architect Matt Landis, economist Sean Timmons, graphic artist Terri Smith and project assistant Lorna Armani.
Matt Landis received his bachelor’s of landscape architecture from the University of Kentucky and earned his master’s degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. As an Associate with Ken Smith in New York City, Landis worked on such significant projects as the Roof Garden for the Museum of Modern Art. Most recently, he worked as a site engineer for the Prospect Park Alliance in Brooklyn, New York. His first day as a landscape architect at Design Workshop was February 22.
Sean Timmons graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder in May 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, with an emphasis in real estate. Timmons interned with Paine Webber and JohnstonWells while he was in school and volunteered and worked in Guatemala and Argentina for a year after graduation. At Design Workshop, Timmons will be working on projects and assisting with research for the Strategic Services team. His first day was January 9.
Terri Smith graduated in 2003 from Colorado State University, where she majored in art with a concentration in graphic design. During school and post-graduation, Smith worked at CSU Publications and Printing. Most recently, she worked for Monigle Associates in Denver as a graphic designer and production artist on signage projects for Bank of America and Cingular Wireless. She joined the graphics team on January 9.
Lorna Armani graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a master’s degree in fire protection engineering in 1998. She worked as a project engineer and project manager for Rolf Jensen & Associates for five years before she accepted a senior administrative support position with Carlisle Wide Plank Floors, where she worked for the last three years. Armani, who will be involved in both project management and administration, began as a project assistant January 12.

The firm, which has been honored with more than 120 awards for design and planning, has offices in Aspen, Denver, Santa Fe, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, South Lake Tahoe and Asheville, N.C.
