Becky Zimmermann named president of Design Workshop

Denver, CO – Becky Zimmermann, a principal shareholder and board member of Design Workshop, has been promoted to president of the firm. Her role will include the execution of the board’s strategy, management for the performance of the practice and the synthesis of content and business.
Zimmermann is distinguished for her work in tourism planning, brownfield redevelopment, development entitlements and real estate economics. She specializes in resort, tourism, community, economic and marketing-related consulting and has led strategic development services at Design Workshop for over 15 years. Her current projects include the Gates Rubber Factory for Cherokee Denver, LLC., the Colorado Community College Campus at Lowry and redevelopment in North Lake Tahoe.
She graduated from Trinity University with bachelor’s degrees in both Communication and Business Administration. Originally working in Design Workshop’s Aspen office, she moved to the firm’s Denver office after earning her MBA from the University of Colorado. [A1] She is LEED accredited, a full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Riverfront Park Foundation. She is a keynote speaker for conferences including the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Conference on Sustainability, the Resort Forum, the French Quarter (New Orleans) Business Association Annual Meeting and the ULI Recreation Development Council. Her work has been published in Metropolis, Landscape Architecture Magazine, Urban Land and various local periodicals.
