Design Workshop Announces New Principals, Associates

Denver, CO Design Workshop has promoted three staff as principals and 12 as associates. Eliot Hoyt of the Denver office, Rebecca Leonard of the Austin office, and Gyles Thornley of the Aspen office were promoted to principal. New associates include: Kelan Smith, Carol Sperat, and Kristen Turner of the Denver office; Walt Cole and Drake Fowler of the Asheville office; Philip Jeffreys and Paul Squadrito of the Aspen office; Shawn Byron, Sarah Homuth, and Seung Kyum Kim of the Phoenix office; and Steve Brozo and Keith McKeown of the Salt Lake City office. The announcement of the new positions was a result of peer and management recognition of ongoing achievement and leadership capability among the selected candidates.

In the Denver office: Principal, Eliot Hoyt, has served as a real estate research market analyst and project manager at Design Workshop for four years. He often serves a dual role of project manager and either market analyst or financial analyst for his projects. He was recently project manager for a number of large master planning projects, including the redevelopment of the former Gates rubber factory.

Kelan Smith is an environmental graphic designer for Design Workshop focusing on identity and wayfinding signage and has been with the firm for four years. Carol Sperat, a landscape architect with five years of experience at the firm, has worked on several neighborhood parks and open spaces within the RidgeGate community as well as new communities in Aurora. Kristin Turner, a landscape architect, has been with Design Workshop for four years. She focuses on urban design, new communities, streetscape design and construction documentation.
