Mountain Retreat

Natural appearance contrasts with strict order in the design of this 120-acre mountain estate, which required both a private sanctuary and large, showy gardens for entertaining. Careful attention to the terrain produced a look of “untouched” nature for the most of the estate, juxtaposed to highly ordered geometrical garden configurations near the residence. Perched just below the crest of the hill, the site enjoys panoramic views of snow-capped jagged peaks and a high mountain valley framed by agricultural meadows.
