Griffis Blessing Downtown Redevelopment

Design Workshop was retained by Griffis Blessing, Inc. to serve as visionaries, urban designers, and real estate analysts for a 160,000 s.f. city block in historic downtown Colorado Springs. Design Workshop prepared value diagrams that resulted in a master plan and a model from which the revitalization of Colorado Spring’s downtown would emerge. Viewed as a "hinge development," the site lends itself to a grand downtown reuse vision along key bisecting corridors. The more subtle historic and character nuances of Colorado Springs were examined, resulting in economic studies, conclusions and recommendations that were gradual, achievable, and unique.
