Through Design U, Design Workshop’s corporate university, the firm offers a variety of learning opportunities. Design U courses are structured to meet continuing education requirements. We are also pursuing collaborations with academic institutions to have our courses accepted for credit in their degree programs.

Design Workshop helps staff with 36 months of professional practice experience and educational opportunities to prepare for and pass the LARE licensure exam.

The firm encourages and provides support for staff pursuing advanced degrees.


Professional membership

Design Workshop encourages staff to participate actively in their professional organizations. The firm pays between half and all of one professional membership fee for each staff member each year.


Scholarship

Staff can apply for scholarships annually to pursue learning opportunities outside of Design U.

Sabbatical
Principals and Associates who have been with Design Workshop for seven consecutive years are eligible for a two-month paid sabbatical. A sabbatical is a reward for hard work and dedication and is intended to provide time to recharge, energize and refresh.

Retreat
Members of the firm gather every two years for a firm-wide retreat. In between bouts of socializing, staff members participate in workshops, presentations, panel discussions and guest lectures.

Creation of a successful career involves more than just having a passion for what you do. Professionals at the top of their field understand and implement specific strategies that ensure their native talent and passion convert into a dynamic career. Design Workshop has created a program to support an individual’s path to achieve his or her professional goals.
