Santa Fe Office

The Design Workshop Santa Fe office is a regional leader in landscape architecture and sustainability in arid environments. New Mexico has a naturally limited water supply, and this office has produced award-winning solutions for planned communities such as High Desert and Rancho Viejo that have eloquently addressed the water issues we continue to face. The Santa Fe office also focuses on institutional planning and landscape architecture and is working with Santa Fe Public Schools to improve education through outdoor learning. Other notable work includes residential landscapes, wayfinding, the master planning for the Santa Fe Railyard district, and planning projects in El Paso, Texas and Kalispell, Montana.

Area Attractions

Santa Fe is nestled in the foothills at the southern tip of the Rocky Mountains at an altitude of 7,000 feet. The city occupies 33.4 square miles in a valley above the Rio Grande amongst mountains that reach to over 12,000 feet. Thousands of acres of national forest and wilderness surround the city, and yet it is only an hour's drive to Albuquerque International Airport. Santa Fe means "Holy Faith" in Spanish and is known as the "City Different." Santa Fe supports both historic culture and modern technology, while offering an outstanding quality of life for both young and old. It is the oldest state capital in the country, founded in 1610, and at one time all lands west of the Mississippi were governed from the Palace of the Governors on the Santa Fe Plaza.
