Bruce Ferguson selected for Design Workshop Faculty in Residence program

DENVER, CO – Design Workshop named Bruce Ferguson as a 2007 Faculty in Residence participant. The Franklin Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia’s School of Environmental Design, Ferguson will complete a summer term of academic and professional exchange with Design Workshop staff in firm offices throughout the United States.

As an expert in urban environmental design, Ferguson brings 25 years of experience in this field to the benefit of the people, projects, and culture of Design Workshop. Staff members and interns gain valuable insight through collaboration with academic experts such as Ferguson. Two of his books, “Stormwater Infiltration” and “Introduction to Stormwater,” are among the most authoritative texts in Ferguson’s field of specialization: the integration of urban development with natural watershed processes. His most recent book, “Porous Pavements,” is the only comprehensive review of this technology, which continues to grow as an important element in urban watershed development. With such depth of experience, he will strengthen the efforts and outcomes for Design Workshop clients both in the present and the future.

Design Workshop is an award-winning, international firm practicing landscape architecture, land planning, urban design, and tourism planning. Design Workshop combines principles of smart growth, sustainable design, and environmentally-sound planning to reconcile economic needs with the preservation of scenic, cultural, and community values.
