Tahoe office of Design Workshop hires talented landscape architecture intern

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — Design Workshop is pleased to announce the hiring of landscape architecture student Beau Johnson in a long-term internship program in the firm’s Tahoe office. Johnson brings a rich educational background and new expertise to the office and boosts the staff level at Tahoe to 12 members. He began his six-month internship January 9.
Johnson is a student at Iowa State University (ISU) and is expecting to graduate with a bachelor’s in landscape architecture in May of 2007. He is an active member of the Design Council at ISU and the Student Society of Landscape Architecture and completed an internship with the Heard Gardens, Ltd., in Des Moines, Iowa, and spent the summer of 2005 studying at the ISU College of Design in Rome, Italy.

Founded in 1969, Design Workshop practices sustainable design and planning on sites ranging from urban infill, parks and open-space projects to brownfield redevelopment and resorts. The firm, which has been honored with more than 120 awards for design and planning, has offices in Aspen, Denver, Santa Fe, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, South Lake Tahoe and Asheville, N.C.
