Design Workshop's Phoenix office hires planner and graphic designer
PHOENIX, ARIZ. — Design
Workshop’s
Phoenix office is pleased to announce the hiring of landscape
architect and environmental planner Juan A. Brenes-Garcia,
who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new
position, and graphic designer Judy Van Camp.
Garcia earned three degrees from Arizona State
University, including bachelor’s degrees in both urban planning and
landscape architecture and a master’s degree in environmental
planning. He has worked for firms in San Fernando, Spain, and
Munich, Germany, and for the Arizona Community Foundation,
the City of Scottsdale Preservation Office, Arizona State University
and Jones & Stokes environmental consultants in Phoenxi.
Most recently, Garcia served as an environmental and land-use
planner, landscape designer, urban designer and GIS analyst
for HDR Inc. in Phoenix. His first day at Design Workshop was
March 6.
Van Camp, who will receive a degree in graphic
design from Arizona State University in May, has been working
with the Phoenix office since last spring as a long-term graphic
design intern. Her first day working as a full-time graphic
designer for Design Workshop will be May 22.
Founded
in 1969, Design Workshop practices sustainable design and planning
on sites ranging from urban infill, parks and open-space projects to brownfield
redevelopment and resorts. The firm, which has been honored with more than 120
awards for design and planning, has offices in Aspen, Denver, Santa Fe, Phoenix,
Salt Lake City, South Lake Tahoe and Asheville, N.C.
