Los Angeles Office

The recently established Los Angeles office is organized to take advantage of redevelopment and growth in the region, applying Design Workshop’s wide-ranging expertise with desert communities and urban environments.

The firm’s local presence builds upon work completed in the region by the firm and Principal leadership, including projects in California, Nevada and Arizona.

Office expertise includes community planning, mixed-use urban design and public realm landscape architecture. Staff is focused on providing design services that address re-urbanization and recentralization trends in the area as demographic, economic and lifestyle factors converge to reinforce these patterns.

The Los Angeles office is led by Lance Lowrey; please contact him for business development inquiries.

Area Overview

As one of world’s most populous metropolitan areas and the second most populous in the United States, the Greater Los Angeles area includes over seventy-five cities with over 60,000 residents. This includes the nation’s most ethnically diverse population. Extending across five counties, the area is home to one of the world’s largest urban agglomerations and the third largest metropolitan economy.

The metropolitan area has reached a growth tipping point as commute times, demographic trends, urban land values and lifestyle interests point toward more compact, mixed-use and community-oriented development patterns, representing a very important transition for the Los Angeles area.
