Pflugerville Comprehensive Plan

Design Workshop has been asked by the City of Pflugerville to update their comprehensive plan. Pflugerville is a fast-growing, residential community on the northeastern edge of Austin, Texas. Pflugerville grew from 4,400 people in 1990 to nearly 42,000 in 2008. The city limits cover 21 square miles. The Comprehensive Plan is the city’s principal guide for use in the daily planning decisions regarding growth and future development within the city limits. Design Workshop led a team of professionals through a thorough community involvement and plan development process including issues analysis, baseline data collection, education about best practices throughout the country, goal setting, visioning, identification of implementation strategies, and final adoption. Methods for protecting the City’s interest in quality of life and smart growth were defined even in light of the growth pressures and emerging transportation corridors (SH 45 and SH 130).
