2026 Design Workshop Promotions

Design Workshop Announces 2026 Promotions, Including Five New Principals

DENVER — Design Workshop, an internationally recognized landscape architecture, planning, and urban design firm, today announced 24 promotions across seven studios in California, Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina, and Texas. The promotions recognize team members whose leadership, creativity, and collaborative contributions continue to advance the firm’s design excellence, client service, and collaborative culture.

We are proud to recognize their accomplishments and look forward to their continued impact across the firm.”

Principal Promotions

Ashley Hejtmanek

Ashley Hejtmanek (Aspen)

Hejtmanek, a registered landscape architect and certified planner, has been with Design Workshop since 2005, and is recognized for leading complex park, corridor, and residential design projects with a focus on craftsmanship, storytelling, and user-centered design. She managed the design of the largest nature and urban park for Trust for Public Land in that of Story Mill Community Park in Bozeman, MT.

Eric Krohngold

Eric Krohngold (Denver)

Krohngold brings expertise in real estate development advisory, market analysis, master planning, and financial feasibility, helping clients navigate complex planning and development opportunities. He believes strongly in the transformative power of community and market-driven real estate development projects and is passionate about weaving community engagement efforts throughout the project planning process. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and an active member of the Urban Land Institute.

Marianne Stuck

Marianne Stuck (Aspen)

Stuck, an urban designer and certified planner, has more than 16 years of international experience leading streetscape, corridor, and public realm projects that integrate transportation and land use planning. She has presented at state and national conferences on the impacts of tactical urbanism as an effective public engagement tool, and her work has been honored with various awards. Some of her recent work involves numerous urban design and station area plan projects that explore the connection between land use, mobility, and growth patterns.

Max Guzzetta

Max Guzzetta (Aspen)

Guzzetta specializes in residential design, bringing a thoughtful approach to garden design and placemaking shaped by his family’s long history in the landscape industry and his studies in the United Kingdom. He has had two projects receive National awards in Residential Design from the American Society of Landscape Architects as well as the Landscape Design Project of the Year from Interior Design Magazine.

Mike Huskey

Mike Huskey (Corporate)

As chief financial officer, Huskey has played a key leadership role in Design Workshop’s strategic growth and financial management, drawing on more than 15 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.

Senior Associate Promotions

Aaron Bridgers (Raleigh); Ben Niefield (Aspen); Brenna Laffey (Raleigh); Tarana Hafiz (Houston); and Tyson Murray (Tahoe) have been promoted to Senior Associates.

  • Bridgers is a landscape architect whose experience includes projects across the U.S. and Central America, providing a body of knowledge for constructing projects in a wide range of climates. Since joining the firm in 2021, he has been focused predominantly on large residential projects and believes in designing enduring places of beauty, art, and craft that restore the human spirit.

  • Niefield is driven by a desire to improve lives through the spaces he designs. He enjoys working on residential, public park, and private development projects across a wide range of scales. He draws inspiration from the ecologies within a site, designing spaces that blend seamlessly with the local landscape and topography.

  • Laffey is a planner and designer with projects ranging from comprehensive planning to public gardens, parks, and mixed-use developments. She believes that design at any scale can be a powerful medium in addressing complex issues and advocates for equitable and sustainable solutions to create resilient communities.

  • Hafiz is a planner and urban designer with over 10 years of national and international experience creating equitable and resilient built environments. With projects ranging from community planning to form-based code and park planning, Tarana is addressing challenges within public spaces and integrating outreach and advocacy to garner support for impactful design.

  • Murray is a landscape architect who enjoys the iterative process of evolving a design to perfectly fit each community or client’s needs. His passion for landscape architecture and planning was inspired by his childhood in Provo, where he explored canyons, deserts, and plateaus, and the beauty of the natural landscape.

Associate Promotions

Brett Miller (Los Angeles); Corey Dodd (Raleigh); Emily Burrowes (Denver); Emily Pixberg (Raleigh); James Joyce (Raleigh); Jamie Laverty (Denver); Jeff Israel (Raleigh); Kristin Martinez (Aspen); Luyu Zeng (Aspen); Mo Bachtiar (Corporate); Nurain Rafee (Denver); Sally Hoeft (Austin); Sam Daniel (Aspen); and Sara Downing (Raleigh); have been promoted to Associates.
