Setting a new standard of living in Denver's burgeoning Art District

A mixed-use luxury apartment building with ground floor retail, Mica RiNo sits in one of the last large development parcels in River North (RiNo) Arts District. Home to over 475 artists and 190 studios, RiNo is Denver’s foremost arts district and has become a world-class arts destination for the city.

The key dilemma for this Hines development was how to position the project to balance refined urban living with the authenticity and grit that has made RiNo Arts Districts such a desirable place for the creative class. In response, our team created a design for the outdoor spaces that engage residents through a variety of social spaces and active, four-season programming while blending an industrial aesthetic.

The 11-story high-rise includes festival streets to be closed for events as well as an extensive 30,000 SF amenity deck and pool on the 4th floor. The Design Workshop team worked closely with the consultant team on complex on-structure detailing to come up with creative solutions for drainage, planting, and pavement systems. The result is a seamless integration between building and landscape.
